College Life

Sorry I haven’t paid much attention to this thing lately, I’ve been busy with school and such. I’m not even sure anyone is still reading this thing, but on the off chance that there is someone looking at this, I present you with a link to a video I found about ten minutes ago.

Goldfish.

An intriguing use of Mountain Dew. I wonder if it would work on people?… Joking.

Nintendo Themes Done A Cappella.

All of you favorite old-school NES theme songs done a cappella. Hear for youself.

Amazing video. Unfortunately, the video didn’t play automatically for me, so i had to download it and watch it. For those of you that dont know how to download embedded video, switch to firefox, install greasemonkey, get appropriate user script, restart firefox and go back to the video. It should have a button beside it that says: [download]. If all of that is too complicated and you still can’t see the video and you remember the 8 bit processor days when the Nintendo Entertainment System was and awesome thing to own, leave a comment here and put up your email address. I’ll send you the file (5 Megabytes) and remove your email from the comment, for yout own protection. But really, its worth it.

Robotic garage gets OK

Robotic parking — like valet parking, but without the valet is coming to Fort Lauderdale.A totally automated parking system that racks and stacks cars in less space than a conventional parking garage.

Its like the car closet in I-Robot, for those of you that saw the movie. Too bad the condo its attached too costs more money than I will ever see.

Sin City Comic-To-Film Comparison

Sin City Trailer

It really gives you a sense for just how painstakingly Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller went about creating this film. Some shots are very similar while others are damn near exact.

I want to see this movie very badly. Moreso, I want to get my hands on a couple of Miller’s graphic novels…my kinda comic books.

War of the Worlds

War of the World’s Trailer

I know I’ve gotten out of the habit of putting up movie trailers, but I can’t help myself on this one.

More links

A few things I’ve been meaning to get around to posting:

House of Cosbys:

This is one of the best short internet video serieses (plural of series) I’ve seen. A man finds a hair that used to belong to Bill Cosby and builds a cloning machine. He clones and clones, and soon, his house is full of Bill Cosby clones. What is even better is that each has a specialty: one if curious Cosby, one is bathtime Cosby, one is dancing Cosby. The later you get into episode 2, the less and less any of them actually sound like Bill, but it is still funny. Also, every tenth Cosby he clones has superpowers. Such fun.

E-Z Catch Harvester:

Honestly, this thing looks like a lawn mower for chickens. The idea is that rather than taking time to pick up each and every one of your 200 chickens and putting them in their cage (i.e. Napoleon Dynamite). At one time, when I first found this several weeks ago, there was a video of it in action on the site, but I cannot seem to find it now. You have to admit, its pretty funny.

Roadtrip:

This takes a while to view, but it is still pretty good. A man with a convertible and a camera set to fast-forward. Set to music, it is a relaxing few minutes away from things like…

Bloody Day Part 1 (Game):

I have no excuse for this. I simply enjoy needless violence. Yippee.

The Comics Curmudgeon:

Now here is my kind of humor. Take the simple, cute, and somewhat funny contents of the daily comics and add a bit of satire. The list of comics to choose from is long and the humor, I can appreciate. If you try really hard, you probably can too.

That is all I’ve got for one night. I’ll post a few more later.

Xbox health

If you are like me, you have never looked at an X-box and thought to yourself: “Gee, that thing could cause me serios physical harm.” I was looking on the xbox live site earlier and found this… disclaimer? Most of this is the kind of stuff you would expect your dog to know, but having been on xbox live, I cannot properly make any judgements as to the intelect of the average gamer. To quote one boy “I got mail!”

Use of game controllers, keyboards, mice, or other electronic input devices may be linked to serious injuries or disorders.

When playing video games, as with many activities, you may experience occasional discomfort in your hands, arms, shoulders, neck, or other parts of your body. However, if you experience symptoms such as persistent or recurring discomfort, pain, throbbing, aching, tingling, numbness, burning sensation, or stiffness.

Later in the document…

Consider the following suggestions to reduce the effects of low forces on your body:

* Press gaming controller buttons with a light touch, keeping your hands and fingers relaxed, as it takes little effort to activate these buttons. Also, use a light touch when using control sticks or pads on a gaming controller.
* Avoid resting your palms or wrists on any type of surface while using game controllers.
* Relax your arms and hands when you’re not actually using game controllers. See “Taking Breaks” section below for additional information.
* Hold the game controller with a relaxed hand. Do not grip the game controller more tightly than is necessary.

A healthy lifestyle can help you perform and enjoy your everyday activities, including the time spent playing video games. For overall good health, consider the following:

* Eat a balanced diet and get adequate rest.
* Exercise for overall fitness to give strength and flexibility to your body. Keep in mind that you should consult a qualified health professional to help you choose the stretches and exercises that are right for you.
* Learn to manage stress.

To this, I would like to add that I eat a terrible diet, haven’t exercised in something like 7 years, have yet to get a full nights restful sleep, and manage stress by playing video games.

Industrial Shredder

You wouldn’t believe how hard it is to find a quality picture of an industrial shredder. For me, there is some satisfaction in watching a refridgerator being ‘chewed’ into little bitty pieces.

Fish

I’m not sure why, but I find this very funny. For those of you keeping up, he’s still alive.

It just occured to me that most of you probably don’t even know who he is. Look it up.

Kids… (shakes head)

Rainbow Randolph is my name…

Death to SmoochyTrailer

Good movie, more dark humor. Robin Williams plays a kid-show host that goes insane. Its worth a rental, and not for the kiddies. That’s all I’ve got.

Bunnie Theater

The friendly people at Angry Alien made a series of flash animations staring bunnies that re-enact movies in 30 seconds. They’ve recapped ‘Alien‘, ‘the Shining‘, and ‘the Exorcist‘ and now present ‘Its a Wonderful Life.’Also, there is ‘Titanic‘, and one of my favorite movies of all time, ‘Jaws‘. Amazing.

Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy Trailer

I need to read the book, I want to see the movie. This is another reason that I should continue refining my writing skill and shoving manuscripts and short stories down people’s throats. Grrr.
