Google Maps
I found this today… apparently, Google owns satellites now. This is my neighborhood, my house is the brown one in the center of the page, on the south side of the street. There is a tree to the north-west of our house, and beside it, I can see my car… from space. The detail this is in leads me to believe that the shot could have been a lot closer, but still, its pretty amazing. I’ve been enamored with Google Maps from the get-go, but now, I am amazed. Flash based maping means they have everything lined up and glued together. i can scroll around my neighborhood from 40 miles up. I wonder how long it will take for a site to publish a live feed from one of these things. I could watch the cars drive by my house without a window open. I could look around parking lots and check on my parents while they are away. Man, I need to sit down for a minute… wait, I already am. Maybe I need to stand up.

yeah i ran into this a few months ago as well… it’s wild. i like it. kinda spookie but i like it. it’s fun :D
